Job Summary

The Monitoring Officer is responsible for supporting the ATRAS PROJECT monitoring and reports preparation, under the leadership of the Project supervisor. The incumbent will ensure the continuous monitoring of the assets with close collaboration with technical team, regulatory authority, and other stakeholders. He/she will help identify those assets to ensure they have real time connection to our server and take the appropriate actions to make sure any issues are resolved successfully within 24hrs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor VTS system performance and reliability.
  • Analyze system alerts and take corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with IT and development teams to resolve system issues.
  • Provide operational insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Assist technicians during operational and maintenance activities.
  • Perform customer registration and system updates.
  • Manage and maintain inventory records and equipment tracking.
  • Prepare and submit critical system and incident reports.

Key Performance Indicator KPIs

  • Percentage of time systems are operational
  • Speed and accuracy in identifying potential issues
  • Number and timeliness of proactively detected issues before escalation.
  • Resolution of incidents within defined SLA timelines.
  • Average time taken to acknowledge and respond to incidents within SLA.
  • Accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of system monitoring reports.
  • Timely and effective technical support provided during operations.
  • Timely and accurate completion of system registrations.
  • Accuracy in tracking and updating device movement and inventory records.
  • Quality of insights provided and compliance with operational and regulatory standards.

Qualification & Skills Required.

  • Diploma in informatics, computer science, telecommunication, electronics, social sciences or Statistics will be added advantages.
  • Excellent computer skills specifically with Ms Excel, word and power point applications
  • Demonstrated skills in quantitative data analysis , data management and report writing
  • Strong Communication and public speaking skills.
  • Good team player, interpersonal and people management skills
  • Fluent in English and Swahili language.
  • Experience in one of the Enterprises resources planning (ERP’s) will be added advantage.
